Donald Forest Ritchie, Sr., 68, of Florence, died Thursday, November 3, 2011. He was born April 20, 1943 in Harrisonburg, VA to the late Lawrence W. Ritchie and the late Ruth Simmons Minnick. Mr. Ritchie was the owner of Ritchie Trucking Company Donald was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Wesley Alan Ritchie, a sister, Patricia A. Owens and a grandson, Brandon F. Ritchie.. Survivors include: sons - Donald "Donnie" F. Ritchie Jr., and Richard "Rick" Lee Ritchie both of Florence; daughter - Angie Ritchie of Orangeburg; mother of children - Juanita G. Ritchie; brother - Lawrence W. Ritchie of FL; sister - Mary C. Phelan of Florence; grandchildren - Danielle "Boogaloo" Ritchie, Faith Gladwell, Miranda Pennington, Tristina Ritchie, Makailyn Ritchie, and Lakley Garrick; great-grandchildren - Jaydan "Termite" Johnson, Taylor Roadcap, and Myley Roadcap. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Cain Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Cain Funeral Home.
