Donald Richard Coleman, 70, of Pamplico, SC, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024.  He was born in Washington, DC, a son of the late Douglas Eugene and Ruby Cameron Coleman.  He is also predeceased by a brother, Arthur William "Billy" Coleman.

Don served his country in the US Navy a sonar tech on submarines.  He graduated from Hannah Pamplico High School and Florence Darlington Tech majoring in automotive.  He worked his lifetime as an auto mechanic.  He was a member of Mt. Elon FWB for many years, faithfully serving as a song leader, Sunday School superintendent and board member.  He was a member of the Pamplico Masonic Lodge.  Don enjoyed daily rides on his motorcycle after a day's work and loved his personal shop and projects.  Most of all he loved his family time together having many meals and fellowship in his shop.  He loved hugs, laughter, showing his love and was affectionately known to children as "Papa".

Surviving is his loving wife, Paula Flowers Coleman; two sons, Bryan Richard Coleman (Lisa Coleman) and Kevin Glen Coleman (Christine Coleman); a brother, Douglas Eugene Coleman; sister, Aletha Anne Marsh; four grandchildren, Kaylin Grace Coleman, Emma Reiniche, Addy Reiniche and Savannah Johnson; brother-in-law, Darrell Flowers (Loria); seven nephews, Matthew Stone (Allison), Joshua Stone, Steven Flowers, Kyle Coleman (Lauren), Christopher Coleman, Jeffery Coleman (Melissa) and Steven Marsh (Stephanie); two great-nephews, Jacob Marsh and Ian Marsh; a great-niece and great-nephew who were like grandchildren to him and called him Papa, Ethan Stone and Ryleigh Coleman; as well as other extended nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Mt. Elon FWB with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
