Donald Ray Carlisle, 81, of Florence, South Carolina, passed away on July 30, 2026. Donald was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was spending time with those he loved.

In addition to his parents, Claude J. Carlisle and Cora Mavis Penton Carlisle Kelley, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Faye Carlisle, who was the rock of their family and great-grandson, Bentley Jordan. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and lasting memories. In recent years, Donald enjoyed the companionship and friendship of Ruth Blackmon, whose care and support were appreciated. 

He is survived by his three daughters: Suzanne (Jason) Rowe, Glenda (Tracy) Galloway, and Brenda Strickland. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Donnie Galloway, Tearra Jordan, Trey Strickland, Tanya Strickland, and Casey Strickland; great-grandchildren, Leah Duke, Emma Duke, Trei Greene, Tytus Greene, and Ivy Strickland; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. 

Donald had a lifelong passion for antique cars and loved life in the fast lane. Whether behind the wheel or sharing stories with family and friends, he lived life with enthusiasm, determination, and a sense of adventure. Those who knew him often said he had "nine lives" because he always seemed to overcome every obstacle that came his way. His strength, resilience, and larger-than-life personality will never be forgotten. 

His family will remember him for his love, his laughter, his stubborn spirit, and the many memories they shared together. Though he will be deeply missed, they find comfort in knowing he is reunited with the love of his life, Faye. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will speak to friends following the service at the cemetery.
