A funeral service for Mr. Donald Erwin Barrentine, husband of Connie "Regenia" Kiker Barrentine, will be at 2:00PM Saturday, June 20, 2009 in Hillside Free Will Baptist Church. Interment with full military honors by a Ft. Jackson Honor Guard in Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00-8:00PM at Cain Funeral Home. Mr. Barrentine, 55, died June 17, 2009, in Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia. He was born, July 26, 1953 in Dillon County, SC, to the late Ervin and Blanche Turner Barrentine. He was also predeceased by brother, Melvin Barrentine and sister, Priscilla Hayes. Mr. Barrentine served in the US Army for over 20 years, retiring as a SFC. Following his retirement he began a career working in poultry processing plants for Columbia Farms, Perdue Farms and Nichols. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling and was a big Gamecock fan. He was an active supporter of the West Florence High School Band. He attended Hillside Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is: sons, Thomas Bell, Donald E. Barrentine Jr. and Cory Wayne Barrentine all of Florence, SC; daughter-in-law, Christy Fairchild Barrentine of Florence; brother, Ronald Barrentine of Latta, SC; sisters, Linda (Thomas) Monahan and Carol (Luke) Rising both of Columbia and Sandra Dial of Florence.
