Donald Bullard Balkcum, 63, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at his home.  Don was born in Clinton, NC, a son of the late William R. and Laura Bullard Balkcum, Sr. He is also preceded in death by a son, Donald Scott Balkcum.  Don taught Real Estate for Fortune School of Real Estate at Florence-Darlington Tech and work as a contractor. Most recently, he worked as the broker in charge of Net Force Properties.  He was a member of Elim Bible Church and loved football, baseball, basketball, racing and cooking.

Surviving are his loving wife of 22 years, Patricia Howle Balkcum; two daughters Cherry Hewitt and Bridget Bullard; two sisters, Judy B. (John) Coon of Decatur, AL and Carolyn B. (Lennie) Swanson of Henderson, NC; a brother, William R. (Teresa) Balkcum of Wilmington, NC and a sister-in-law, Joy Lynne (Michael) Smith of Georgia; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in the chapel of Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, with burial following at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, just prior to the services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to his wife, Patricia to help out with medical expenses.
