A memorial service for Mr. Dixon "Dickie" Zinzle Weaver, Jr., husband of Jean Bazen Weaver, will be at 1:00 PM,Wednesday April 7, 2010, in Cain Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Chaplain Stan Kennedy. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association 181 E. Mr. Weaver, 78, went to be with the Lord on Easter Morning. He was born November 18, 1931, in Darlington, SC, to the late Dixon Zinzle Weaver Sr. and Lois Mooneyham Weaver Sansbury. Dickie attended the University of South Carolina, and Spartanburg Junior College. He was devoted to the Lord, and had obtained a Pastorial Seminary Diploma. Mr. Weaver loved his wife, kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and had a love of writing Inspirational Christian Poetry. He was retired from Kroger, and had also worked many years with Merita Bakery. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: children, Dixie Creel of Florence, David Eugene Weaver of Darlington, Holly (Charles) Wilson of Wilmington, NC, and Angela Weaver of Florence; sister, Ruth Irwin of Denton, TX; brothers, Thomas Weaver of Grey, GA, and Miles Weaver of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Trey Ard, Al Welch, John Welch, Elizabeth Creel, Catlin Creel, Chad Wilson, Chase Wilson, and Megan Weaver; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, and Joanna; and his beloved cat, Snowball.
