Obituary

Diane Carr Mobley, 70, passed away on February 13, 2025, after several months of health challenges. Born in Brevard, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Violet and Charles Carr. Diane was one of five siblings and is predeceased by her sister, Donna Carr Howard. She is survived by her brothers, Gary Carr (Debbie), Kevin Carr, and Craig Carr.

Diane was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time with her family. She is survived by her sons, Scott Evans (Pam) and Adam Evans (Brooke). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Zack Evans (Grace), Maegan Bird (LaVance), Drew Poston (Amanda), Luke Evans, Andrew Evans, Seth Evans, and Eve Evans, and her great-granddaughter, Kaydence Bird. Diane is also survived by her longtime significant other, Steve Dabbs, who was a steadfast companion for many years, providing love and support throughout her life.

In addition, Diane is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Diane loved the Lord and was actively involved in ministry and church whenever her health allowed. She found great joy in sharing her faith and passed along the gift of salvation to her family, a legacy that will continue through generations.

Diane was a strong woman—resilient, determined, and always willing to do whatever it took to care for those she loved. She faced life's challenges head-on and never backed down from hard work or tough times. Her love for her family was unwavering—she would give anything she had and do anything she could for the people she loved. She was deeply affectionate, always ready with a warm hug and a helping hand. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she made sure those around her felt loved and cared for.

Diane was also known for her sharp wit and incredible sense of humor, lighting up any room with her quick comebacks and unfiltered honesty. She never hesitated to speak her mind, and those who knew her best loved her all the more for it.

Diane will be deeply missed.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with a visitation beginning at 2:00 PM.
