A graveside service for Deanna Joy Flowers Smith, will be at 3:00pm, Friday, April 25, 2008, at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Doug Henderson. Family members will receive friends following the service, and other times at 2421 S. Robeson Ave. The family suggests memorials be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, 2401 Claussen Road, Florence, SC 29505. Ms. Smith, 54, of Florence, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born February 17, 1954, in Florence, SC, to Fannie Mae Flowers McPherson and the late Lawrence Bob "L.B." Flowers. She was predeceased by her father, and a brother, Lawrence Douglas Flowers. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. Among her survivors, in addition to her mother, are: sisters, Jane (Bobby) Hatfield of Florence and Judy F. Thigpen of Summerton, SC; brother, David (Belinda) Flowers of Summerton, SC; nieces, Caryn Stacey Reynolds of Austin, TX, and Brooke Flowers of Summterton, SC; nephews, James M. Carmichael, IV of Murrells Inlet, SC, James C. Thigpen, Jr. of Valdosta, GA, Ryan D. Thigpen of Huntersville, NC, and Douglas Flowers of Summerton, SC; and a special friend, Valerie Messier.
