Florence, SC Dean Willard Steindl, 87, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Carolinas Hospital. Born in Edgerton, Wisconsin, Dean was a son of the late Emery and Eva Haylock Steindl. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister, Florence Thompson, and his brother, Ronald Steindl. Dean served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Florence and served for seven years as chairperson of the Trustees, and then remained as trustee. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mary; his daughters, Denise Steindl of Concord, NC, and Lynn (Phillip) Marlow of Johnsonville, SC; his son, Doug (Diane) Steindl of Edgerton, WI; grandchildren, Theran Steindl of Edgerton, WI, Wayne (Kim) Marlow, Ashley (Terry) McDaniel, Clay Marlow, all of Johnsonville, SC, and Tiffany Coward of Darlington, SC; and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Highland Park United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 1929 B.
