Florence, SC David King Welch, 65, of Florence, died Monday, February 4, 2013 in Florence, SC. He was born January 7, 1948, in Marlboro County, SC to Charles Daniel and Marian Arlene King Welch. David attended Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Jaycees. He was also a former Bennettsville City Councilman and was retired from Tomlinson Wholesale, where he worked as a manager for many years. David was preceded in death by his father, Charles Daniel Welch, Sr. and his mother, Marian Arlene King Welch. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Hallman Welch of the home; 2 sons, Craig Welch of Greenville, SC and David Brian (Heather) Welch of Myrtle Beach, SC; his brother, Dr. Charles Daniel (Katherine) Welch, Jr. of Florence; his 5 grandchildren, Sierrah, Aubrey, Payton, Brielle, and Lily; his nieces, Frances W. (Todd) Norris, Elizabeth B. Welch, and Caroline W. (Dr. Brian) Sang; and his beloved Boston terriers, Ernest T., Belle, and Pepper. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2013, at the Church at Sandhurst. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or The Humane Society.
