Mr. David Allen Caraway, 65, of Florence, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in Florence, SC. He was born April 18, 1947 in Henderson, NC to Lizzie Mae Roberson Caraway and the late Hubert Titus Caraway, Sr. Mr. Caraway was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He retired after 23 years of service in the United States Navy and Army. David was preceded in death by father - Hubert Titus Caraway Sr. and daughter - Cassandra Caraway Ball. Survivors include: wife - Patricia Anne Smith Caraway of Florence; mother - Lizzie Mae Roberson Caraway of Florence; brothers - Bobby Caraway of Daytona Beach, FL and the Rev. Hubert Titus (Edith) Caraway Jr. of Whiteville, NC; sister - Mary (Johnnie) Sanford of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren - Amanda (Derrick) Hudson of Johnson City, TN and Allen Ball of Honacker, VA; brother-in-law - Patrick (Christina) Showalter of Florence; several nieces and nephews; and he leaves behind several dear & close friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 pm Friday, June 1, 2012, at Cain Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Cain Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of Patrick (Christina) Showalter 414 Graham St. Florence, SC 29501.
