Danny L. Moore, 66, of Florence, S.C., died Friday, February 20, 2015 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. He was born in Florence, S.C., son of the late Hubert L. and Mildred Flowers Moore. Danny graduated from McClenaghan High School in 1967 and began his working life as a butcher at Cherokee Thriftway while raising his three children. He began his life long career when he joined American Industries in 1971 and entered the oil business. He worked in Vicksburg, MS, then Charleston, SC where he began his 21 year tenure with Dilmar Oil Company. Upon returning to South Carolina he found his true love Donna Graham and added another child, Lawson, to his ever growing family. Danny was a 37 year member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge 204 and the Omar Shrine Temple in Mount Pleasant. He was a past Director of the Provost Guard and also past President of the Pee Dee Shrine Club. He continued his public service as an assistant Den Leader to Cub Scouts Pack 402 in Florence. He was also the Secretary on the Board of Directors of the Palmetto First Credit Union, and the past Chairman of the Supervisory Committee. Danny was generous with his time to family, friends and the community. He enjoyed fishing with the grandkids and Lawson. He loved to cook and particularly loved to eat what he cooked, as well as what other people cooked too. He was an avid pilot and loved to fly his Cheetah Grumman. Mostly he made everyone around him happier every day. He is survived by his wife, Donna Graham Moore of Florence, S.C.; two daughters, Samantha Parker and her husband S. Edward Parker, lll of Weston, CT; Traci Summersett and husband Kent Summersett of Florence, S.C.; two sons, Heith L. Moore of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Lawson D. Moore of Florence, S.C.; two sisters, Diana M. Graham of Manning, S.C.; Debbie Moss and her husband Terrell of Florence, S.C.; 8 grandchildren, Duncan Summersett, Phoenix Parker, Blu Parker, Saige Summersett, Zephyr Parker, Zaine Moore, Foxwylde Parker and Keenyn Moore. The family will receive friends Monday, February, 23, 2015 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites directed by Cain Funeral Home.
