Dannie Frank Butler

Dannie Frank Butler, 79, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Mr. Butler was born in Coral Gables, FL, a son of Rose Mae Ashbrook Butler and the late Frank Warren Butler. Dannie was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he attended Army Technical School and served as a heavy equipment mechanic in the 102nd Infantry. He was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a daughter-in-law, Misty Butler.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Brenda Carol Barker Butler; sons, Jon (Tonia) Butler, William (Karen) Butler, and Wyatt Butler; grandchildren, Joshua, Elainie, Davis, Ava, Taylor, Avery, Ryder, Mathew, and Hanna Butler; great-grandchild, Paisley Butler; brother, Ralph Butler; and sisters, Donna Links, Verlen Fox, and Sharon Williamson.

Memorials may be made to the Frank Monroe Scholarship Fund, c/o Florence Baptist Temple, 2308 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2025 in the Florence Baptist Temple with the service to follow at 12:00 noon. Inurnment will follow at the Florence National Cemetery at 1:00 pm with military honors directed by Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home.
