Daniel D. Rogerson, Sr., 97, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the McLeod Hospice House. He was born in Andrews, SC, a son of the late Lester Porter Rogerson and John Edward Rogerson, Sr. He is also predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Virginia Cummings Rogerson, a son, Daniel D. Rogerson, Jr., and two grandsons, Daniel D. "Dano" Rogerson, III and Neil McQueen Rogerson, a brother, John Edward Rogerson, Jr., and two sisters, Claire Doby and Carolyn Rogerson. He was a member of our country's greatest generation, having served as a Marine during WWII. Mr. Rogerson was a dental technician for over 50 years, having been affiliated with Sexton-Shealy Dental Clinic in his earlier career and various other dental clinics throughout the state. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. He is survived by a son, Wesley Jonathan Rogerson, Sr. of Florence; two daughters, Jeannine Rogerson Clemens of Charleston and Carolyn Rogerson Holcombe of Florence; three grandchildren, David Hugh Lyon, Ginny (Chris) Inabinet and Wesley Jonathan Rogerson, Jr.; and three great-grandsons, Cal, Tanner and Hampton Inabinet. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at All Saints Episcopal Church, led by Father Jason Hamshaw and Father Dick Archer. Graveside services directed by Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home, will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the Florence National Cemetery.
