Curtis Patrick Polson, 73, of Pamplico, SC, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in Simpsonville, SC. He was born in Dillon, SC, a son of the late John Patrick and Nina Hayes Polson. Curtis graduated from Latta High School and entered the US Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He received an accounting degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College and worked for Union Carbide/ESAB from 1966 until his retirement. He is survived by his son, Patrick Polson of Columbia, SC; daughter Shannon Polson (Rich) Jones of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Jones and Haleigh Jones, both of Cary, NC; a sister, Linda (Earl) Harrelson of Florence, SC.; brothers, Robert (Nancy) Polson of Dillon, SC and David Polson of Pamplico, SC. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 21, 2017, in the Chapel of Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM, in the Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society.
