IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Craig James
Sarro
March 9, 1958 – May 27, 2023
Craig James Sarro was born on March 9th, 1958 to Claire L. Junkerman Sarro and Alphonse Joseph Sarro in Freeport, Long Island, New York. Craig graduated from Centereach High School. He entered the United States Army on September 9th, 1976, serving in Colorado and overseas in Germany. He was honorably discharged in September of 1979. Craig went on to graduate from The Riverside School of Aeronautics in January of 1982. He wore many hats in his life working as a mechanic, inspector, private pilot, and operating engineer. Later in life, Craig opened a successful real estate business with his wife Lilis Sarro, with whom he raised four children; he and Lilis were married 22 years.
Craig loved all the good things in life and shared them with family and friends. He was very passionate about the people and things he loved. He loved traveling, cooking, outdoor activities, collecting, and fixing things. He loved sharing his opinion on things with anyone who would sit and listen, and he always stuck to his guns on matters he was passionate about. He cared deeply about his family and close friends, and he found ways to show how much he cared beyond simply telling them so. He maintained close relationships with his sons-and-daughters-in-law, and adopted them selflessly into his own family. He was also an animal lover and had a couple of close canine companions toward the end of his life. Craig's impact on his family, friends, and community will be felt for years to come.
Craig is survived by his father, Alphonse Sarro; his wife Lilis Sarro (Tjandra); two sons, Christopher Sarro (Tina Sarro) and Michael Siek (Nikki Siek); two daughters, Michelle Kesner (Harrison Kesner), Claire Sarro Norman (Shawn Norman); two grandchildren, Caleb Sarro, Aurora Sarro; two brothers, Alan Sarro (Mary Sarro), Douglas Sarro (Sheila Sarro); and is predeceased by his mother, Claire L. Junkerman Sarro and sister, Aimee Sarro.
Craig will be prepared for cremation at the Cain-Calcutt Funeral home in Florence, SC, and a private celebration will be held at his home by his family on June 1, 2023.
