Clyde E. "Mac" McGoogan, 79, of Florence, S.C., passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at the WJ Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, S.C. He was born in Robeson County North Carolina, a son of the late Willie and Edna Clide Liles McGoogan. He is also predeceased by a brother, William "Bill" McGoogan; and a niece, Jennifer Broad McKenzie. Clyde proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a Mason, member of the Florence Masonic Lodge, and he was a lifelong NASCAR fan. He is survived by his wife Elinor Cecelia Floyd McGoogan of Florence, S.C.; two daughters, Shannon McGoogan (Reid) Moseley of Lexington, S.C.; Shawn McGoogan of Lexington, S.C.; one nephew, Charles (Beverly) McGoogan of Red Springs, N.C.; two nieces, Kate Floyd (Freddie) Timmons and Cindy Floyd Wolff. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 26, 2016 in the chapel of Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
