Clyde DuBose King, Sr., 81, of Florence, died Friday, April 5, 2013 in Florence, SC. He was born July 26, 1931 in Hartsville, SC to the late James A. and Vera Ruth Tolson King. Mr. King was an avid Gamecock Fan, Golfer and Shriner. He was also a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the V.F.W Post 3181 as a Jr. Vice Commander. Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Louise White King, a son, Clyde D. "Sonny" King, Jr., and his parents. Survivors include: sister-in-laws, Betty Hurst of Chesterfield, SC, Eloise Melton of Columbia, SC, Barbara Freeman of Chesterfield, SC and Judy King of Beech Mountain, NC; special friends, Daniel Rhame of Columbia, SC, Constance Windham of Florence, SC and Betty Adams of Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM prior to the service at St. Paul United Methodist Church Family Life Center. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM at St. Paul United Methodist Church. A private inurnment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
