A graveside service for Mrs. Claudia Madden Alewine, wife of the late Ernest Marshall Alewine will be Friday, January 15, 2010 at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Mrs. Alewine, 91, died January 10, 2010, in Tyler, TX after an illness. She was born October 9, 1918, in Laurens, SC, to the late John P. and Elizabeth Cooley Madden. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and was the last surviving of her 9 siblings. Surviving include: daughter, Sandra (H.G. "Butch") Byrd of Tyler, TX; son, Jim (Jonie) Alewine of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Travis Byrd, Noah Byrd, and Garrett Byrd, all of Tyler, TX; great-grandchild, Ethan Byrd of Tyler, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
