Clarence H. “Hub” Bailey, 84, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Hub was born in Florence, SC the son of the late Ezra Calhoun “Callie” Bailey and Irene Hinds Bailey. He retired after 25 years with E.I. Dupont, was a lifelong member of Friendship Methodist Church where he was a founding member of the Methodist Men’s Club, and enjoyed farming after his retirement. Hub was involved in his community where he was a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Omar Provost Guard, a member of the Amity Lodge, and was a Mason and a Shriner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Wilbur Bailey, E.C. Bailey, and Patricia Skinner.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Turner Bailey; son, Chris (Hope) Bailey; daughter, Amy (Brian) Thomas; grandchildren, Jessica Bailey (Cody), Gavin (Stephanie) Bailey, Lance (Kristin) Bailey, Reed (Hanna) Breeden, Matthew Breeden, Seth Thomas (Jassy), Rylei (Bradford) Watford; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Alexander, Kinsley Alexander, Madelyn Bailey, Aurora Bailey, Case Breeden, Bennett Breeden, Emory Watford, Brinley Watford, and Seagar Thomas.

Memorials may be made to Friendship Methodist Church of Mars Bluff, 5422 E. Old Marion Highway, Florence, SC 29506.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home, 512 Second Loop Road, Florence, SC 29505.

Funeral services will be held at Friendship Methodist Church at 11:00 am Thursday, September 3, 2026 with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
