Charlie O. Jones, Jr., of Georgetown, SC, died on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Born on October 5, 1928, in Batesburg, SC, he was the son of the late Thelma Rowell Jones and Charlie O. Jones, Sr. For many years, he worked for C&S Bank and served faithfully at the Chamber of Commerce in Myrtle Beach. Charlie was a graduate of University High School and the University of South Carolina. Charlie proudly served his country by serving as a Lt. in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. Ho loved playing golf and dove hunting with his son and friends. He will truly miss his friend, David Michaux, and his neighbors on Queen Street in Georgetown. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dottie K. Jones, son, Chuck (Margie), sister-in-law, Margaret Perrin, and step grandchildren, Laura Bates and John Calcutt. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church Episcopal Church with inurnment to follow at the columbarium.
