Charles Edward Morse, 78, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Morse was born in Dover, NJ, a son of the late James and Mary Rosella Dabbs Morse. He worked in Morris Plains, NJ with the Mennen Co., now Colgate-Palmolive Co., for twenty-two years until moving to Florence, where he owned and operated Morse Liquors. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a brother, James (Marion) Morse of NJ. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Jane Blaine Morse; two daughters, Donna Turk of Effingham and Cheryl Labo of Florence; four grandchildren, Billy Turk of Effingham, Sandra Turk, Coty Labo, and Kyle Labo all of Florence; three great-grandchildren, Curtis Tyler of Effingham, Megan Turk of Georgia, and Hayley Tyler of Florence; a brother, Norman (Julia) Morse of Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 4, 2015 in the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel, officiated by Chaplin Luis Gargiulo, with inurnment to follow.
