Charles Hoyt Kirby, III, "Bill", 76, died on Friday, February 4, 2022.  Bill was born September 20, 1945, in Hickory, NC.  He was a son of the late Charles Hoyt Kirby, Jr. and the late Gladys Williams Kirby. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Todd Chappell.

Bill was a graduate of Lander University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology.  He retired from Wellman Industries in Johnsonville, SC and after his retirement, served as a school bus driver for many years in both Saluda and in Florence.  Bill also spent time volunteering as a Guardian ad litem.

After completion of training, Bill became a member of Clergy and a Certified Instructor for The United Methodist Church's Lay Speakers Lead Small Groups in September 2022.

He is survived by two children, Susan Kirby Chappell of Summerton and William Kellan Kirby (Rob) of Moncks Corner; one grandson, Brendan Davis Kirby of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Randy Kirby of Greer; a sister, Jackie Martin of Milford, IA; and a niece, Vallory Martin (Gin) of Austin, TX.

There will be no services at this time.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Kirby family.
