Charles "Jerry" White, 75, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Kingsville, TX, a son of the late Grady Clifton and Ernest Blanche Johnson White. Jerry served in the US Army for 21 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He continued to serve his country for 21 more years in Civil Service, on matters of National Security. In retirement, he served his community as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem, advocating for the rights of at-risk children. Jerry also served as a Red Cross Emergency Response team member during many national disasters. Jerry is survived by his wife, Yvonne Brown White; three sons, Charles Clifton (and Laura) White of Killeen, TX, Robert Havron (and Kristina) White of Blythewood, SC, and Christopher Shane (and Susanna) White; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, October 22, from 1 – 4 pm at his home in Florence. Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
