Charles Jerry Griffin, Sr., 75, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Carolinas Hospital.  He was born in Dillon County, a son of the late William Hallie Griffin and Attie Mae Hunt Griffin.  He is also predeceased by a son, Michael John Griffin, a sister, Grace DeFields, and two brothers, Robert Griffin and William "Bill" Hallie Griffin, Jr.

Charles was a truck driver for the first part of his life and then went to work for Amana until his retirement.  He was a member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Beverly Ann Harris Griffin; his children, Barbara Griffin Dorn, Charles Jerry Griffin, Jr.(Laurie), Tonya Keele (Gregg), Robert Brian Griffin, Sr. (Beth), and Brandy Marie Donaldson (Bill); four step-children, Cheri Lee, Robert Tallon, Cathy Morris and Heyward Tallon; nineteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Griffin Couture (Willis) and Edith Mae Griffin DiMarzio (Ben); and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 PM prior to the services at the church.
