A cryptside service for Charles Davenport Chapman, husband of L. Gail Chapman will be at 11:00AM Wednesday Decdember 23, 2009 at the Columbarium of Central United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Thomas C. Pietila. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church 225 W. Cheves Street Florence, SC. 29501 or Florence County DSN Board, 1211 National Cemetery Rd., Florence, SC 29506. Mr. Chapman, 68, died Saturday December 19, 2009, in a Darlington nursing home. He was born, November 6, 1941, in Daytona Beach, FL, to the late Jack D.and Betsy Cox Chapman . Mr. Chapman was a graduate of Plant City, Fl. High School and served in the US Navy. He was a retired trucking agent and active in the Lions and Jaycees in Plant City. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.. Surviving, in addition to his wife are: daughter, Shelley C. (Robert) Snow of Lancaster, PA; Grandchildren, William Turner and Caroline Snow; sisters, Harriett (Dr. Tom) Chiu of Midland, MI and Paula (Richard) Spencer of Fairfax, VA; brothers, Greg Chapman of Seattle, WA and Tommy (Shirley) Holt of Centreville, VA.
