"Patti" Moore Holland

Cecil Patrick "Patti" Moore Holland, 91, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. She was born in Whiteville, NC, the daughter of the late Mildred Hooks Moore and Donald Lee Moore. She is also predeceased by her husband, Oscar Lee Holland, Sr., a daughter, Amy (Jay) Swetenburg, and a sister-in-law, Beverly Moore.
Patti's favorite introduction of herself was. "I am Patti with an i and I won an Oscar". She attended Elon College and received a business degree, and there is where she met her husband, Oscar. Family was everything to her, her husband, four children and their spouses, ten grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was a people person and loved making people feel "special". Her smile would show people that somebody cared about them. This love of others helped her in being a devoted Pastor's wife. Together, she and Oscar pastored for 58 years at 12 different churches as full-time or interim ministries. She loved being a Pastor's wife and supported her husband and loved on the members of the church. Patti was the first director at Ebenezer Baptist Church Weekday Ministry. She leaves a legacy of love, responsibility, friendliness and sharing Jesus through actions.
Patti's high school superlatives included being voted "Wittiest", basketball, majorette in the band, cheerleader, Glee Club and Bible Club. She enjoyed crafts, painting Charleston Rainbow Houses on bricks and scenes on gourds, doing puzzles and she loved elephants
Surviving are two daughters, Kim Andrews (Billy) and Kelly Polk; a son, Lee Holland (Jan); a brother, Don Moore; ten grandchildren, Stacey McGhee (Shawn), Wesley Andrews (Sage), Jeremy Andrews (Lindsay), Katey McCoy (James), Jake Holland (Bethany), Meg Salmon (Sean), Chad Polk (Brittani), Christine Dodd (Michael), Meredith Swetenburg, and Brooke Runzo (Ethan); twenty-one great-grandchildren, Hailey McGhee, Aidan McDonald (Conner), Wyatt Andrews, Walker Andrews, Lalla Andrews, Waylon Andrews, Henry Andrews, Liam McCoy, Jack McCoy, Carys McCoy, Bear Holland, Judah Holland, Riggs Salmon, Cayde Salmon, Kaelynn Polk, Elijah Polk, Karli Polk, Jaxon Polk, Ollie Polk, and two others not listed by name; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church prior to the service. There will be a private Inurnment in the church cemetery.
