Catherine "Tinka" Liakos Deas, 88, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025.  She was born in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Thomas Liakos and Louise Goff Williams Liakos Brown Teasley.  She is also predeceased by her husband, Aubrey L. Deas; a son, Jaimie Deas; two brothers, Thomas Belk Williams, Jr. and James Liakos; a sister, Marjorie Williams Usry Strand; and a great grandchild, Dean Coward.

Mrs. Deas obtained her Nursing Degree in 1971 from Francis Marion College and a Bachelor of Arts in Health Care Management in 1982 from Parks College.  She was the Director of Eastern Carolina Health Education System, served on the Board of Directors for Carolinas Society for Health Education and Training (CSHET), and the Board of Directors for the South Carolina League for Nursing.  She was voted 1979 Personalities of the South.  In addition to her many accomplishments, Mrs. Deas enjoyed reading multiple books per week and loved animals.  She was a devoted wife and mother.

Surviving is her daughter, April Deas Britt (Jimi); son, Joseph Deas (Pam); brother, Larry Brown (Joanne) ; sister, Rebecca Brown Owens (Mike) ; four grandchildren, Walker Britt (Callie-Jane), Ashley Britt Coward (Brandon), Rachel Deas and Emily Deas; and six great grandchildren, Elijah Britt, Banks Britt, Isaac Britt, Charlotte Britt, Samuel Coward and Elliot Coward.

A graveside service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025 in the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel in Florence, SC, with Entombment to follow.  The family will receive friends in the Mausoleum Chapel one hour prior to the service.
