Catherine Driggers (Gran), 66 of Timmonsville, SC was called home by Our Heavenly Father after battling a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Lester Shelby and Pauline Lincoln. She was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1943 and later retired in the Timmonsville area. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 20 years, Charles E. Driggers. Catherine was known by many as "Gran". She worked for many years as a volunteer for Friendship Girls Softball Complex in the concession stand. She also worked as a private sitter for many Alzheimer's patients in which she took great pleasure. Catherine was a very loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Jim Shelby of Illinois; two daughters Cindy and Stephanie; a very close daughter-in-law, Donna Shell; grandson, Brandon Shumake; and two special friends, Crystal Mills and Faye Davis. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Pauline Mabrey of GA, Leslie Mabrey of Mt, Steven Shell of NC, Thomas L. Shell (Baldwin) of CA, Mary (Guy) Kennison of SC, Amy (J.C.) Shumake of SC, Felicia (Mike) Rogers of SC; grandchildren, Abbi, Ashley, Michael Rogers, Jesse (Ileana) and Heather Shumake, Megan Shell, Chris (Heidi) Kennison, all of SC; Sara Shell, Tammy Flowers of MO, Andy and son Shell of NC; great-grandchildren, Jordon and Jacob Shumake, Alexis Kennison, McKayla Allen, Jacklyn and Jamen Rogers, Aiden Owens all of SC, Madilynn Maretoli of MO; special friends, Brenda (David) Shaw, Helen (Bill) Bethea, Stella (Joe) Shannan, Hadfield, NJ; Rhonda (Blake) Cecil and Betty Vaughn. Gran will be sorely missed by us all. She is finally pain free. Cain Funeral Home will be in charge of cremation arrangements and the family will have a memorial service, July 4, 2009, at 10:00am at 5603 Country Lane, Timmonsville.
