Obituary

Carolyn Jeannette Linton Dingle was born on August 10, 1952, in Hartsville, South Carolina, to the late James Edward Linton and the late Annie Eliza Linton. She fell asleep in death on January 4th 2026 at the age of 73. Carolyn was married and became a devoted wife to her husband, Herbert Lee Dingle, on December 29, 1988. When she had her greatest loss (losing her mother) in April 1990, a month later she had her greatest joy in becoming a loving mother to her son Christopher Brandon Dingle. She often referred to her son as the “apple of my eye” and her “bundle of joy.” She was a cherished member of both her physical and spiritual families. In 1989, Carolyn moved to Connecticut, where she later dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 13, 1997. 2 months later, she returned to South Carolina and made her home in Florence. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic, serving in education as the School Secretary at McBee Elementary and later in healthcare as a Clerical Associate for McLeod Health physicians. In 2012, she formalized her long-standing cleaning work into her own business, HCC Cleaning. Carolyn was known for her hospitality and welcoming spirit. Her home was always open, and she took great care to ensure her family was supported and loved. She was strong in personality, kind in action, fashionable in appearance, and loyal in friendship. Above all, she was devoted to her family and faithful to Jehovah. Carolyn was the eighth of 10 siblings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Carey Lee, Edward Jr., David, Ralph, Waites and sisters Shirley and Yvonne. Carolyn leaves behind to cherish her memory: Her husband, Herbert; son Christopher and daughter-in-law Briunshi; sisters Cornelia Carr and Willie Mae Linton; Mother-in-law Eutha Mae “Ms. Dingle”; Step Sons, Brothers and Sisters-in-law; A host of loving nieces and nephews, family and friends. Carolyn’s family and friends find comfort in the Bible’s promise of the resurrection as she did, as recorded at Rev. 21:3,4, and can look forward to the time when death will be no more. She looked forward the most to seeing her parents and siblings alive once again under much better earthly conditions. Her faith, love, and example will be remembered until that hope is fulfilled. The Dingle and Linton families would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at McLeod Health Hospice for their compassionate care, as well as Carolyn’s spiritual family and friends for the love, prayers, and encouragement shown during this time. It’s clear that many loved Carolyn as much as we did.
