Caroline "Peggy" Runette Evans Tisdale, 73, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at McLeod Hospice House.  She was born in Darlington County, the daughter of the late Archie Wallace Evans and Evelyn Lucille Filyaw Evans.  She is also predeceased by the father of her children, Darrell Lloyd Morris, Sr; five siblings, Kathleen Ard, Elwood Evans, Jimmy Evans, Margaret Byrd and Judy Hatchell; and her bonus son, Joey Nelson Tisdale.

A lifelong resident of Florence County, also spending years in Germany and Georgia, Peggy was educated in Florence County Schools and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.  Until her disability, she worked in customer service at Fleet Mortgage/Washington Mutual.  She spent her days focused on faith and family, in constant care of the people she loved.  She read her Bible every day and was a voice of faithfulness, council and kindness for many.  She showed LOVE to everyone, no matter how they treated her.

Surviving is her husband, Jimmy Nelson Tisdale; son, Darrell Lloyd Morris Jr. (Jennifer); daughter, Sandra Morris Witt (Roy); bonus daughter, Denise Tisdale Thigpen (Milton); four grandchildren, Colby Evan Witt, Corbin Eric Witt, Noah Alexander Morris and Jacob Lloyd Morris; two bonus grandchildren, Creighton Carlysle Chandler and Layla Gretchen Dutton; a special niece, Elizabeth Gretchen Deas; five siblings, Vivian Bridges (C.C.), Randall Evans (Angie), Tommy Evans (Sandra), Ray Evans (Shannon) and Lucy Baggett (C.J.); sisters-in-law, Linda Evans and Janet Evans; brother-in-law, Alan Hatchell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
