Carol Ann Yaken, 86, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Ms. Yaken was born in Pittsburgh, PA a daughter of the late Charles Gray and Evelyn Moore Gray. She retired from Delta Mills after 30 years of service. Carol was a loving , gentle, giving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and loved making blankets for her grandchildren.

Surviving are her sons, Geroge Yaken, Jr., Steve (Brenda) Yaken, and Danny (Lynne) Yaken; grandchildren, Tyler (Anna) Yaken, Danielle Poston, Chris (Quin) Klopp, Jamie McLane, Jessica (Joey) Hodges, Caroline (Cody) Roberts, Nicole (Michael) Roberts, Ryan (Meagan) Yaken, Katie (Benny) Parrott, and Chad (Carly) Yaken; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrna Small and Elsie Blankenbeker; and number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society, florencehumanesociety.org.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Pisgah Methodist Church with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 am at the church.  Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home.
