Carol Moore Tolin, 89, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Mrs. Tolin was born in Hope Mills, NC a daughter of the late Samuel Moore and Minnie Owens Moore. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and taught English and French in the public school systems of NC and SC for many years, where she was loved by many of her students. Carol really enjoyed the beach and spending time there. She also loved to treat family and friends to her tasty recipes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade T. Tolin, who passed away in 2019; daughter, Debbie T. Fisher, and grandson, Jeffrey Fisher.

Surviving are her son, Tim Tolin; daughter, Amy Tolin; son-in-law, Robert Fisher; grandchildren, Jeremy Tolin, Colby Tolin, and Julie Fisher; great-grandchild, Lydia Pham-Tolin; sister, Yvonne Starr; and her beloved fur-babies, Toby and Sophie.

The family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home with the funeral service to be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
