Brenda Lane English, 79, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.  She was born in Mullins, SC, the daughter of the late Hazel Bryant Lane and the late Vernon Baker Lane.  In addition to her parents, Brenda is predeceased by her husband, Rev. Carl W. English; three brothers, Robert Russell Lane, Joel Hampton Lane and Larry Baker Lane; one brother-in-law, James C. Bryant; one nephew, Allen Bryant; and special friends Mrs. Mickey Grice of Florence and Ray Brumbles of Zion.

Brenda attended Winthrop College and graduated from Francis Marion University.  She retired as supervisor from the Florence County Department of Social Services.  She was a member of Zion Southern Methodist Church in Zion.  Brenda loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and singing.

Survivors include her son, Frankie Best (Crissie) of Florence; grandchildren, Bridgette Best Fowler (Hunter), Nikki Lovette (Daniel), Christopher Smith, Matthew Smith and Benji Galloway (Michelle); two great-grandchildren, Matthew Graham and Easton Fowler; a sister, Shirley Lane Bryant of Hanahan; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Lane of Fork and Gynelle Lane of Monks Corner.

A graveside service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in the Florence Memorial Gardens Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM in the mausoleum chapel prior to the service.
