EFFINGHAM Bobby Joe Hartley Sr., 61, died March 9, 2012 in Florence, SC. He was born June 21, 1950 in Florence, SC to the late Richard Hartley and the late Daisy Johnson Lloyd. Mr. Hartley was retired from Carter Miles Machine Shop. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son - Bobby Joe Hartley Jr.; daughter - Jennifer Hartley; brothers, Richard "Buddy" Hartley and Mitchell Hartley. Survivors include; wife - Maxine Poston Hartley of Effingham, son - Randy Hartley and Jason Hartley both of Florence; sisters - Shelby Montrose and Nancy Lloyd both of Florence; brothers - Danny "Jap" Hartley, Jamie Lloyd both of Florence and Donnie Hartley of Erie, PA; grandchildren - Stephen Broach, Piper Hartley and Skylar Hartley; and 1 great-grandchild. The family will receive friends 1:00-3:00 pm, March 11, 2012 at 2317 Queen Ann Road, Florence, SC 29501. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take a kid fishing.
