Bobby Wayne Gibbs, 86 of Pamplico, SC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at his residence.  Wayne was born in Pamplico, a son of the late Wilburn J. and Helen Cox Gibbs.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Donald E. Gibbs (Bobbie), Charles Gibbs (Barbara), Kent Gibbs and Dale Gibbs; a sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Calcutt, five brothers-in-law, James L. "Buddy" Calcutt, W.S. "Billy" Calcutt, George Charles Calcutt, Luther Ray Calcutt and Willie Joe Calcutt (Peggy).

Wayne was a graduate of Pamplico High School and served his country in the US Air Force.  He then worked in the Immigration Department in Washington DC for 4 years.  After moving home, Wayne worked for the Pamplico Post Office, then worked at Florence Post Office and finally at Lake City Post Office, retiring after 48 years of service.  He was a member of Mt. Elon FWB Church and was the Sunday School Director and Chair of the Deacons.  He was also a member of the Pamplico Lions Club and Meals on Wheels.  Wayne was a Clemson Tiger fan and had a great love for his family, especially his two grandsons.

Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years, Faye Calcutt Gibbs; a son, Rodney (Gaye-Dawn) Gibbs; two grandsons, Carson (Sydney) Gibbs and Collin Gibbs; three brothers in law, Bobby G. (Sue) Calcutt, Jakie O. (Carolyn) Calcutt, Rev. Randall "Randy" L. (Alice) Calcutt; four sisters-in law, Joan Calcutt, Elizabeth Calcutt, Renea Calcutt, and Brenda Calcutt; special cousin, Dollee Turner; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home with interment to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.
