Billy David Sims, Sr., 79, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at his residence.  Mr. Sims was born in Lake City, SC, a son of the late Archie Franklin and Ether Everett Reed Sims.  He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a son, Wayne Sims and a brother, John Henry Sims.  Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Lida Turner Sims, a daughter, Linda (Richard) Hill of California, two sons, Billy Sims, II and Archie (Angie) Sims, both of Effingham, two sisters, Betty Baxley and Olivia (Donnie) Fennell, two brothers, George Sims and Rendel Sims, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in the chapel of Cain-Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.  Please sign the online guest registry at www.cainfuneralhome.com.
