Betty Sims Baxley, 79, of Lake City, SC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at her residence.  Betty was born in Lake City, a daughter of the late Archie Franklin and Eather Evert Reed Sims.  She was a self-employed painter who was known for her good heart and calming presence in both her business practice and personal life.  Betty loved dancing to good music and singing.  She helped raise her siblings and took care of her family.  Everyone that knew her loved her and never spoke an ill word toward her.

She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, DeLesie Elvyn Baxley and three siblings, John Henry Sims, Vera Sims and Billy Sims.

She is survived by a daughter, Lori Ann Baxley; a son Leslie "Brian" Baxley; a sister, Olivia Fennell; two brothers, George Sims and Rendle Sims; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in the Baldin Matthews Cemetery, Lake City, SC, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.
