Obituary

Barbara McLaughlin Rosser, 80, of Florence, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 in a local health care facility. Mrs. Rosser was born in Florence, a twin daughter of the late Mack McFadden and Gladys Hatchell McLaughlin. She graduated with her bachelors from Winthrop and was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church, where she was active in various women's groups. Mrs. Rosser loved going out to eat with her twin sister, Maxine, at various restaurants in Florence. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents are her husband, David Harold Rosser; her twin sister, Maxine McLaughlin Turnage; her daughter-in-law, Lynn Rosser; and a great-grandson, Jacob Catoe. Surviving are her son, David H. Rosser, II of Florence; two granddaughters, Rachel (Joey) McGee and Kandace Rosser both of Florence; five great-grandchildren, Abby, Ryan, John David, Chloe, and Jack McGee all of Florence; and her lifelong friend, Gwen Wallace. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at John Calvin Presbyterian Church. A private inurnment will be held at Mt. Hope at a later date. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church and at other times at her son's residence, 4153 Bannockburn Road, Florence. Memorials may be made to the Conquer Chiari Foundation, 320 Osprey Ct, Wexford, PA 15090 to aid in research to help others, like her grandson, Jacob. The family would like to thanks the caring staff at Oakhaven Nursing Center for all of their care given to Mrs. Rosser.
