Mrs. Barbara Franks Petett is the daughter of the late Eddie George and Mildred Gary Franks.

Barbara was born in Florence, SC on December 8, 1943.  She attended Wilson High School and graduated in 1962.  She then left SC and moved to NYC, where she resided with Mrs. Edna Mitchell Bailey, her second mother.  She worked and retired from JP Morgan.  She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Nickles, where she served on the usher board and worked in the outreach ministry: (The Flavorfull Crew): Ruth Shorter, Thomasisa Mcmillian, Rose Kelly, Sharaine Carter, Sarah Enoch, Ollie Bryant, James Washington, and Vera Raynes, under the leadership of James Hall.  She left NYC and returned home to SC in 2013.  She joined Central United Methodist Church in 2015 and became a faithful member until the Lord called her home.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Deloris Franks of NYC and Vera Wilkins of Florence, SC; sisters-in-law, Doris Franks and Ezeperee McKinney; a host of nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives, loved ones, and friends.

A church led memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Central United Methodist Church in Florence, SC.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
