Arnold Jeffrey "Jeff" Smith-Gore, 47, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Carolinas Hospital. He was born in Whiteville, NC, the son of the late Arnold B. Gore and Lou Ella Connor Gore. Jeff was a registered nurse for 24 years. Originally from Delco NC, he has lived in Wilmington, Raleigh and Wake Forest. He and his family moved to Florence in 2012. Jeff is survived by his husband, Ronald "Chris" Smith-Gore; daughter, Hannah Lael Smith-Gore; two sisters, Ann Lawrey and Janice Carroll of NC; and his mother and father-in-law, Johnnie and Ronald Smith of NC. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, October 16, 2017, in the Chapel of Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Jeff was an animal lover, with homeless pets holding a special place in his heart.
