Ann Swarthout Sasso, 85, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Mrs. Sasso was born in Williamsport, PA, a daughter of the late Eugene Charles Swarthout and Mary Ruth Abend Swarthout. Ann was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class, which she loved.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Sasso, and sister, Arlyne Romesberg.

Surviving are her son, Jeffrey (Ann) Harbot; daughter, Julie (Mike) Coker; stepdaughters, Lynn (John) Springman and Karen (Chris) Stefanowich; grandchildren, Sarah Marie Harbot, Matthew Eugene Harbot, Christopher (Lorena) Coker, David (Hannah) Coker, Ryan Coker, and Garrett (Kristin) Coker; five step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanne (Darryl) Martin.

Memorials may be made to the Frank Monroe Scholarship Fund, c/o the Florence Baptist Temple, 2308 S. Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505 or to the House of Hope, 1020 W. Darlington Street, Florence, SC 29501.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon on Monday, July 27, 2026 at the Florence Baptist Temple with the service to be held at 12:00 noon at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home.
