Florence, SC Andrew Miah Corder, 92, of Florence, SC, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Corder was born on August 4, 1920 in Roanoke Rapids, NC to the late William Dewey and Gertrude Roberts Corder. Andrew served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Bunker Hill in the Southwest Pacific during WWII. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Florence, SC. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Mary Evans Corder; 3 daughters, Sally Corder King of Florence, SC, Jeanette Corder (Jim) Stroupe and Janis Corder (Paul) Canup, both of NC.; 5 grandchildren, Kenneth D. Canup, Scott M. King, Amie Canup, J. Cord King and Kelvin Stroupe; 3 great grandchildren, Megan Canup, K.C. Canup and Creighton King. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Florence National Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2013, directed by Cain Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Corder's home at 1103 Clarendon Ave in Florence, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506.
