Amanda Alice Osteen Herndon, 73, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, July 03, 2014, at McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Herndon was born in Columbia, SC, the daughter of the late Henry Calhoun and Jane Elizabeth Faris Osteen. She was a member of Central UMC for 61 years. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Charles Allan Herndon, Sr.; two sons, Allan (Beckie) Herndon of Florence and Ed (Jea) Herndon of Charlotte, NC; and a grandson, Matthew Herndon of Fayetteville, NC. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Central United Methodist Church with inurnment to follow in the columbarium directed by Cain Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the services in the commons area.
