FLORENCE, SC Alvin Lee Borum, 80, of Florence, died Monday, November 12, 2012 in Florence, SC. He was born January 9, 1932 in Cochran, GA to the late Allen James "A.J." and Maude Lee Bell Borum. Mr. Borum attended Pulaski County Public Schools from the third grade until he graduated from Hawkinsville High School in 1949. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Alvin worked for Southern Natural Gas Company in Macon, GA for 35 years before he retired. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Florence, SC. Survivors include: daughter - Melissa (Chris) Brock of Florence, SC; 3 granddaughters - Kathryn Brock, Emily Brock and Morgan Brock all of Florence, SC; 2 brothers - Allen (Dollye) Borum of Wrens, GA and Melvin (Pauline) Borum of Casselberry, FL. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Cain Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Walton offciating. Interment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
