Grace Mobley
November 15, 1929 – July 25, 2016
Alice "Jackie" Grace Mobley, 86, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016, at McLeod Hospice House. Born in Red Bank, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lucius A. Watts, Sr. and Grace Elizabeth Taylor Watts. She is also predeceased by her husband, Robert "Bob" O. Mobley, a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Boozer, a son, Albert "Bubba" Samuel Boozer, a sister, Annis Faye Craven, a brother, Luke Watts, and a granddaughter, Lisa Darby Reynolds. She was a loyal and faithful wife and mother and she raised nine children, all with a little piece of her many great qualities, while working full time as a weaver in a textile mill. She has always had a special place in her heart for children with special needs, as she raised and took care of one of her own. Jackie was baptized at Edmond Baptist Church in Lexington and attended South Florence Baptist Church. Music has always been a part of her life and she loved to sing gospel with her brothers and sisters, with her favorite gospel group being The Gaithers. She loved the Forensic Files, Law and Order and any type of crime and mystery channels and programs. She seemed to always be trying to solve the crimes. She is survived by her children, Virginia Lavern Lewis of Tampa, FL, Carla Sue (Gary) Darby of Port Orange, FL, Alice Regina Mobley of Cope, SC, Angela Mobley (Pete) Becker of Florence, SC, Annis Charlene (Patrick) Heslep of Cope, SC, Robert Obie Mobley, Jr. of Lexington, SC, Melisa Ann Mobley (Carlos) Quinones of Puerto Rico, Janet (Ed) Burnett of Monroe, NC, Deborah (Tommy) Douglas of Eutawville, SC, and Barbara (Jack) Nichols of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Maudine Mills of Columbia, SC, Tarzie Backman of Norway, SC and June Wilbanks of Lexington, SC; one brother, Garvin Watts of Pelion, SC; twenty six grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews; and the love of her life, her faithful pet friend and companion, "Bambi". A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 29, 2016, in the chapel of Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice House or the Pee Dee Regional Center for Special Needs and Disabilities, 714 E. National Cemetery Rd, Florence, SC 29506.
