Pamplico, SC Alfred Joseph Debney, 79, of Pamplico, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2015, at his home. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph R. Debney and Francis McKee Debney Clifton. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Debney, and a sister, Joan Debney. Al served his country in the U.S Air Force. He was also retired after 33 years from ESAB, formerly Union Carbide, in Florence. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and loved working on old cars. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Andrea Witherspoon Debney; two daughters, Cindy (Cameron) Floyd of Darlington and Teresa L. Bowen of Pamplico; two sons, Joseph L. (Jana) Debney of Summerville and Jason P. (Emily) Debney of Goose Creek; two sisters, Pauline Allen and Edith Arnold, both of Conway; seven grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, and Sam, his beloved canine companion. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, at the home. A graveside service, with Military Honors, will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Florence National Cemetery, directed by Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 181 E. Evans St., Florence, SC 29506, or the Florence Area Humane Society, 1434 S. McCurdy Rd, Florence, SC 29506.
