Alexandria "Alex" Lee Marcinek, 21, of Florence, SC, died on Friday, June 27, 2014, at McLeod Hospital after an illness. She is the daughter of Janet Morris Marcinek of Florence, SC, and Robert Alexander Marcinek of Danbury, CT. Alex is predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Sheila Marcinek. Alex was a graduate of West Florence High School, Class of 2011, and attended Florence Darlington Tech for 1 year. She attended Calvary Baptist Church of Florence. Alex was such a determined young lady who fought with great courage to get through her illness. She will always be loved and remembered by her family and friends. We feel truly blessed to have had her in our lives. She is now truly her mom's Angel. Alex is survived by her parents, Janet Morris Marcinek and Robert Alexander Marcinek; maternal grandparents, George and Margie Morris of Florence, SC; paternal grandfather, Robert V. Marcinek of Danbury, CT; her maternal aunt, Judy (John) Morris Brazukas of Hartsville, SC; paternal uncle, Greg Marcinek of Boston, MA; two paternal aunts, Leslie Marcinek of Atlanta, GA and Nancy Dixon of Danbury, CT; cousins, Anna and Lauren Brazukas, Stephanie Dixon and Jennifer Doerner; her fiancé, Michael Kolias of Mooresville, NC; and her beloved dog, Dixie. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Cain Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Cain Funeral Home prior to the service on Monday. After the service, additional visitation will be held at 2516 Mosswood Drive, Florence, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation.
