Midlothian, VA A graveside service for Albertina E. (Betty) Hoogendonk, widow of William P. (Bill) Hoogendonk will be at 11AM Wednesday June 3, 2009 in Westhampton Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Dr. Lawrence Chottiner. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to the Music Fund of Central United Methodist Church, 225 W. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29501. Mrs. Hoogendonk, 93, died Saturday May 30, 2009 at Southerland Place from complications of a fall. She was born August 27, 1915 in The Hague, The Netherlands, daughter of the late Albertus and Sjoukje Schaafsma Ederveen. Betty and Bill left The Netherlands after the WWII in search of opportunity in North America. They moved from Canada to the U.S. living in Illinois and Virginia and remained in Midlothian after Bill retired from DuPont. She was a member of Salisbury Presbyterian Church and was an avid bridge player. Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, William P. (Pete) and Marti Hoogendonk of Florence, SC.
